iPad

I just met with a cute couple today for their wedding in September. To the meeting they also brought Mom and Dad, who were so sweet (they came all the way from Salinas!) They reminded me of my own parents =)

Anyway, I brought my laptop with me and we were sitting around a small coffee table as I was trying to show them pictures of the work I've done. I I wished at that meeting that I had an iPad!!! Showing them them all pictures on this awesome new tablet would have been so much easier and to say the least much COOLER!

Tuan, if you are reading this.......I WANT ONE!

Showers and Flowers

It was a long week of stormy weather and it finally cleared out!! Today I dragged Annalee and Tuan out to a field of yellow flowers I have been dying to trespass on...LOL! Annalee just learned the word "tongue" and her new thing these days is to stick her tongue out whenever she can. We will probably regret letting her do it so often, but it did make for a good photo =P

Samantha and Mike {01.17.10}

Samantha and Mike were married at Ralston Hall Mansion. Ralston Hall is located on the campus of Notre Dame de Namur University. The venue was timeless and elegant.

I first met Samantha and Mike last year in June. I could tell from the first five minutes after meeting them that we would work together well,and I was right! Samantha told me that she wanted fuchsia and dark purple flowers, but other than that she was open to any types of flowers. I chose to use various orchids including phalaenopsis, dendrobium and vanda as they complimented her color scheme nicely, and they have a fun, flirty, and elegant nature. I loved how the fuchsia phalaenopsis orchids popped against the purple satin linens Samantha chose. Everything was so pretty including the bride!!

Congratulations Samantha and Mike!!

Suzanne and Scott {10.24.09} II

I can't help drooling over Suzanne and Scott's wedding pictures. They make me want to get married all over again just so that Ashley Maxwell can take my pictures! I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley as I was setting up the floral arrangements on the day of Suzanne and Scott's wedding. I love Ashley's vintage, fun and flirty photography style. She did an amazing job capturing their day and I {HEART} the way she photographed my work.

These images are from Ashley's blog, check it out for more pictures of Suzanne and Scott's wedding as well as many other adorable couples who have worked with her.

I love the pictures with the donkey...where did they find him? LOL

Ring and John {9.12.09) II

Ring and John were married on September 12, 2009 and their wonderful photographer Karl Ko, was kind enough to share some of the pictures he took on their wedding day. Looking at the pictures sends me back to their wedding day. I remember thinking "wow, this couple is really loved by their friends and family". Ring and John had a large wedding about 400 people if I remember correctly, and almost all of their guests attended the ceremony. Karl did a wonderful job capturing the warmth and joy of their wedding day as well as the fun loving spirit of the couple.

These cupcakes were made by a former client of mine, Andrea, who has since started her own cupcake business, "Cakes by Andrea and Jessica". Andrea co-owns the business with John's sister, Jessica. Congrats Andrea and Jessica!!

{Goodbye 2009....and Hello 2010}

Two thousand and nine flew by faster than any year before it. I remember as a kid that I couldn't wait to grow up. Now that I am a mommy with my own child, I want time to slow down so that I can savor every second of it before I am faced with a teenager who wants me to drop her off a block away from school! Or even when I have to leave her for her very first day of school. {Sniff, sniff}

I have theorized that the reason that time flies by faster as a person gets older, is because it is relative. The thinking I have behind this is that our perception of time is relative to our experiences. As a five year old kid, we only had 5 years of life experiences and much of it at that point we couldn't remember anyway. A person later in life would have many more life experiences under their belt-- so, a day or a year is just a short amount of time for an adult compared to a day in the life of a child.

Theories about time, aside--they say that time also flies when you are having FUN!! Although 2009 was a tough year for our economy, it forced us to think out of the box, learn to adapt, and be creative. Along with the tough times, 2009 also brought many blessings. My daughter is "numero uno" on my list of blessings, but I was also truly blessed to have worked with so many fabulous couples this year who let me be a part of their special days. Thank you to each and everyone of you who allowed me to do what I LOVE for you. Thanks for allowing me to get to know you and allowing me to be creative!

I am excited to work with fabulous new couples and vendors in 2010. TJD will be coming out with some awesome new projects and promotions very soon, so stop by and visit to see what we have in store.

A special thanks to my family and friends (my hubby and mom especially) for being EXTRA supportive this year. I could not have done it with out you!

From me and my family at TJD to yours: Warm wishes and much love for 2010.

I'll leave you with a picture of my family taken just after Thanksgiving :)
